WARNING – CONTENT MENTIONS ABUSE September was a busy and meaningful month for BBSafe.
We were proud to contribute to Child Protection Week, a time when communities, organisations, and leaders across the country come together to focus on the importance of creating cultures of safety for children. For us, Child Protection Week is more than a calendar event; it’s a collective moment to pause, reflect, and recommit to safeguarding.
Throughout September, our work focused on: - Sharing insights: Through a series of blogs, we explored governance in childcare, policy overload, and how organisations can keep safeguarding front of mind beyond one week in the year.
- Engaging with communities: Connecting with boards, leaders, and frontline workers to spark conversations about how safeguarding is embedded in everyday practice.
- Advocating for culture-first approaches: Highlighting that compliance is the floor, not the ceiling, and that meaningful safeguarding comes from leadership, values, and relationships.
At BBSafe, we support safeguarding for children and adults, but during Child Protection Week, we focus on the safeguarding of children. Child Protection Week is a reminder that safeguarding is an ongoing journey, not a destination that we get to and stop. The reflections and resources we shared in September are designed to help organisations strengthen their approach not just in one week, but every day of the year.
