NDIS Compliance and Beyond
Building Blocks Library
Resources to help you recognise risk, respond to concerns and understand your role as a safeguarding leader.
Every NDIS worker has a role to play in safeguarding, not just those in management positions. Workers actively implement safeguarding measures in their day-to-day work and are often best placed to notice when something is not right. Your response can make a real difference to a participant’s safety and wellbeing.
On this page, you will find information to help you understand:
That safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and that you can be a leader in safeguarding regardless of your role
How to recognise the signs of abuse, neglect or exploitation, and how to spot patterns over time
Professional boundaries and what safe, respectful support looks like day-to-day
How to speak up, respond to a disclosure, and where to go for advice or support
This resource library contains references to violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation of people with disability. While most references are general, some sections include specific examples and case studies.
You can take a break or stop at any time. If the content brings up difficult feelings or memories, support is available at:
You can also contact your organisation's Employee Assistance Program or speak with your supervisor.
