BB Safe | Safeguarding Culture & Compliance
A lot has been happening at BBSafe – although we are approaching EOFY there is no slowing down!
New BBSafe Safeguarding Recruitment Resource
We were pleased to launch our new BBSafe Safeguarding Recruitment resource – our top ten tips to help you understand great recruitment practice when it comes to getting safe and suitable people to work with your clients. It is on our website here https://bbsafe.com.au/safeguarding-recruitment-top-ten-tips/.
Following our recruitment webinar this week we got this great feedback:
“We received a number of great suggestions for improvement from the webinar and we would like to introduce these into our organisation” Karen, Community Services.
Thank you Karen – and everyone else who attended the webinar. We hope you got some useful information out of it. Our aim is to provide as much support as we can to the not for profit sector so please feel free to share the resource in your networks and organisations.
June webinar – Safeguarding Masterclass (free)
At BBSafe, we are deeply committed to supporting not for profit organisations by providing free and probono content when we can. We will be holding an online masterclass Friday, 14 June, 12-2pm AEST – and you and your colleagues are very welcome to join. Please feel free to share the link https://events.humanitix.com/bbsafe-webinar-or-safeguarding-masterclass
Safeguarding Lead Coaching Program (July intake)
We are looking forward to welcoming our new intake of safeguarding leads. This program will run from July 2024. Over the six weeks of the program, we will provide coaching in both online group and 1:1 formats to give you the knowledge and skills to engage with authority in your organisation, understand the legislative environment and to bring others on the journey that is safeguarding. BBSafe Director, Sarah Lim, will lead you through:
– 6 x 1 hour group webinars – deep dive into a content area – covering tops such as: safeguarding culture, systems of safeguarding, recruitment and screening, the signs of grooming and abuse, context specific risk assessment, dealing with disclosures, governing for safety, engaging your organisation
– 6 x 1 hours group coaching webinar – workshop a specific issue or problem with the BBSafe team and with peers in the program
– 3 x 1 hour 1:1 online coaching sessions – we can have a look at where your organisation is at, where it needs to go and how it can get there.
We keep this group small (limited to 10 participants) and there are still some spots left.
If you would like more information please reply to this email and we will send you the flier.
BBSafe Safeguarding Partnerships
If you have been trying to get some focus on safeguarding but it’s been difficult to give it the priority it needs, we would love to partner with your organisation to provide ad hoc or ongoing safeguarding support. We can tailor this to your organisational needs. We know that sometimes community services organisations need to make sure they have used funding before the EOFY so please get in touch and talk to us about what is possible and how we could support you.
Let us know…
We are passionate about safeguarding, and passionate about supporting the not for profit sector. Please get in touch if there is some way we can support you or if there are particular tools you would find useful.
